All About Us...

SeaRoom  was initially designed as a stand-alone website devoted to the cruising lifestyle. With the merging of our imaging services company, Computer Slide Express , we decided to change the company operating style to SeaRoom Communications

Computer Slide Express grew out of its parent company, Photo Opticals Corporation, in 1984 and was formed to extend its photographic slide production services into computer slide design and imaging. Photo Opticals had been a trade supplier of photographic services for over twenty years. The advent of Computer Slide Express marked its entry into corporate presentation design and imaging. The company was thus one of the very first to offer imaging from off-the-shelf graphics software. On June 15, 1999, we merged the slide imaging division with that of Absolute Color Slides of Toronto, in order to concentrate on new media design and training.

The principal and founder of the company, Tony Cook, was for many years a senior marketing executive with national and international audiovisual organizations such as General Audiovisual, Singer Audiovisual Canada and Impulse Audiovisual. During that period, he was very active in trade associations, serving for a time as President of the National Audio Visual Association of Canada. He has traveled internationally within the industry, taught presentation design and software operation to major corporations, has written for many publications, including Mastering CorelDRAW (both the book and the journals) and was a moderator on the I/US Web site. He was for several years a Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) on the Microsoft PowerPoint Newsgroup. He is a member of the United States Power Squadron and the Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons.  He is a former director of the Queen City Yacht Club, Toronto, and a Past President of the Ontario Wood Carvers Association.  In 2008 he was recognized by the Canadian Safe Boating Council as its Top Volunteer in Boating.

Annie Cook is a joint founder of the company and is retired from her career as a High School mathematics and guidance teacher. She is also a member of the United States and Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons.  An avid walker, Annie has completed the entire 720 Km  Bruce Trail in Ontario and the 800 Km El Camino de Santiago in Spain and recently returned from an adventurous walk in the Botswana bush.

Computer Slide Express was a family-owned and operated business. With a small staff and state-of-the-art imaging and processing equipment, combined with knowledge and experience, we provided clients with the finest and fastest presentation support. The heart of our production system comprised Agfa/Matrix Forte film recorders, among the finest production units available, supported by outstanding imaging software from Graphx Inc. All production was completed in-house, ensuring quality control and client security. Our E6 film processing system ensured accurate, quality film output.

Recognition of the company's abilities was evident in its status as an Authorized Imaging Centre for leading software publishers. The company has also provided beta testing of products from Corel, WordPerfect, RDP  and Graphx Inc.

Imaging services were provided to corporate accounts from coast to coast in North America and to points in Europe. Along with presentation design, consultation and training. Web design and maintenance, corporate newsletter design and editing are the primary components of our current services.
