The Sekolah Cookbook - recipes for two
"For
years I've been collecting recipes... I've got files full of newspaper
clippings, hand-written donations from friends and brochures from organizations promoting
their food products. My library is stocked with cookbooks, some dating back to 1889. They
contain some absolutely wonderful recipes, however many of them are for 4, 6, 8 12 even 20
servings. I'm usually cooking for two and occasionally for four. First I cut the recipes
down to size, then I experimented with the ingredients and before long I had a different
recipe."
Thus Neil Andrews
introduces his cookbook of recipes expressly designed for two people living on a small
boat. (Now in its second printing!)
What others are
saying about Sekolah's Cookbook:
"Hello
from Vagrant Sea. .... Belinda (my sister) and Jeff from Leilani
have just been with us for a week's visit and they brought us a great present - a copy of
your cook book. I had to write and let you know how much we are enjoying it. I like both
the fact that the recipes are perfect for cruisers and that they are sized for two. We've
already tried several of the offerings and look forward to many more. (The Apple Kuchen
was great, with a rum sauce substituted to take advantage of the local circumstances).
Anyway, it's inspiring that you put the collection together and published it so that
galley service will be improved on boats all over the place. If you ever decide to do a
second edition, I'd be delighted to contribute a few ideas." Bonnie
