The Atlantic
|
|
We
have made three transatlantic passages aboard our 37-foot sailboat Two-Step
including a southbound voyage from the Canary Islands across the equator
to Brazil.
|
In this section of our website we'll share what we've learned about safe
offshore passagemaking. Things like choosing safety equipment, setting
up the boat, dealing with foul weather, navigation and communications.
|
We'll
also take you to some paradisiacal destinations en route including the
mid-Atlantic islands of Bermuda, the Azores, Fernando do Norohna and the
beautiful Atlantic coasts of Portugal and Spain. |
Did
you know the archipelago of the Azores is thought to be the location of
the Lost Continent of Atlantis? On our last voyage to the Azores, we
experienced an earthquake and thought the world was sinking into the sea
again! |
While
we update this section, you can read about our adventures in our
newsletters and we also have a great new 1-hour video you can order
called Transatlantic Crossing that's packed with
"how-to" adventures. Check out our new online video preview
and sail the high seas with us.
