Volume 2: Cape Horn Challenge - Fastest of the thousands of clipper ships that made the voyage from New York to San Francisco was Flying Cloud, which made the voyage in 89 days. The record stood for 135 years until 1989, when five boats tried to break this "oldest record in sailing" Amongst them was Georgs Kolesnikovs. Underdog of the small fleet at the start, he was, at the finish, owner of the new record time for the passage.

Volume 3: Islands of the Whales - Completing a 14-day passage from Bermuda, Paul and Sheryl make landfall on the island of Flores, one of the nine Portugues islands of the Azores. They travel through the archipelago where they meet retired whalers and learn to sail a traditional whaling canoe. They participate in a religious procession for our Lady of Guidance of the Sea. They dive in search of octopus and explore incredible volcanic terrain both above and below the waves.

Mysteries of the Atlantic - After diving on a site in the Bahamas thought to be the remains of Atlantis, the Shards explore other mid-Atlantic islands also reputed to be the site of this legendery lost continent. In the Azores, they dive on an underwater volcano which may become the 10th island in the Azorean archipelago. Returning to the nearby island of Terceira, they learn to cook a traditional meal in the sulphuric steam of a volcanic vent, run with the bulls in the streets of the village, and hike into a remote settlement where there are no roads.

Volume 4: Voyages to Newfoundland - In 1498, Italian navigator Giovanni Caboto lead an expedition for the British crown to find a new route to the Orient. Instead, he discovered a "New Founde Land" which today is part of Canada. In celebration of the 500th anniversary of this voyage which shaped the future of North America, a flotilla of 100 boats from Toronto and New York joined in an expedition to Bonavista, Newfoundland battling cold, fog and icebergs to get there. *

Volume 5: The Making of "Treasure Island" - Our cameras sail to the Isle of Man, in the Irish Sea, aboard a 150-foot pirate ship, to film behind the scenes as a major motion picture is made, starring Jack Palance, of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic "Treasure Island". As well as seeing how a movie is made amongst the rigging and sparts of a tall ship, we explore the rugged coasts and waters of the Isle of Man, dive with huge Basking sharks, and bisit the island's annual traditional boat festival.

Bermuda Triangle - Paul and Sheryl prepare their 37-foot sloop, "Two-Step", for a journey to the mid-Atlantic island of Bermuda. Departing from Norfolk, Virginia, home of the world's largest naval base, they encounter bad weather, including a deadly waterspout, as they journey through the Bermuda Triangle to their destination. When the weather clears, they swim with a pod of pilot whales and investigate the diverse marine life on the vibrant reefs surrounding Bermuda.

Volume 6: Sailing in St. Maarten - We sail in the waters of the island of St. Maarten during the Heineken Regatta - one of the biggest in the Caribbean, and re-live the excitement of "The greatest regatta of the century" - the 1987 America's Cup - sailing aboard the 12 meter yachts "Stars & Stripes", "True North" and "Canada 1" that participated in Australia and now sail the sparkling waters of St. Maarten.
