Expedition Yacht
Services (EYS) is the Canadian sales agent for Northshore
Yachts including the Southerly line of swing-keel shallow draft sailboats.
In an exclusive arrangement with Paul & Sheryl Shard, Expedition Yacht
Services also organizes the crewing possibilities aboard the Southerly
42RST, Southerly Explorer, the yacht featured in the Shards'
sailing TV series, Distant Shores. So if you would like a chance to try
out a Southerly, or would like to join the crew for an adventure, contact

Passagemaking
Southerly Explorer will be making a few passages in the 2-5 day range in
the winter of 2008 where you can join Paul and Sheryl as crew to get a
taste of the cruising life in the Caribbean (the trips are 10-14 days with
2-5 day passages incorporated). It is required that crew have at least
basic sailing experience since crew are expected to help out by taking
watches and performing regular jobs around the boat underway. A great way
to extend your experience to include offshore sailing.
Coastal
For people with more limited sailing experience or those who just want to
try out cruising on the Southerly 42 in a beautiful Caribbean destination.
There are opportunities to join Paul and Sheryl on Southerly Explorer or
to charter the boat with a captain aboard when the Shards are at home
editing their TV shows. Previous sailing experience recommended but not
required.

- the new boat has 2 additional cabins so
two couples, or a couple and 2 singles, can come along
- meals aboard are provided
- $2200 per person per week (double

Southerly Explorer
available for Skippered Chartering
- Southerly Explorer is also available for
charter when the Shards are at home editing the TV show
- charter for a week or two with our captain

- explore tropical destinations and learn
about shallow water cruising

- $1800 per person per week (double
occupancy)

1. There is one cabin with 2 bunks (hi-lo)
and the other has a V-berth.
2. If necessary the 3rd cabin can be made available for a total of 6
guests with prior arrangement.
