Mediterranean

We are currently cruising in the Mediterranean aboard our Classic 37 Two-Step. This is our second visit to this magnificent part of the world, so rich in culture, history, language and cuisine. This time our plan is to revisit some of our favorite places and explore new destinations further east - hopefully Corsica, Sardinia, Italy, Malta, Tunisia, Croatia, and Greece - so check in regularly for updates including our online Sailing Adventure Shows

Here's a taste of what is coming as we voyage the length and breadth of this ancient Sea.

Fishing boatsLocation and Description
From one end of the Mediterranean Sea to the other is almost 2000 miles, almost as far as crossing the Atlantic Ocean! The appeal it has for cruisers is almost as big. We will profile some of the favorite cruising areas and discuss general sailing conditions and climate.
Gibraltar
The Rock of Gibraltar is one of the legendary Pillars of Hercules guarding the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. Throughout time it has been a crossroads for the international cruising community. We discuss strategies for navigating the Strait of Gibraltar and the facilities available to cruisers today.

Cathedral in CeutaCeuta (North Africa)
Ceuta is a Spanish enclave on the North African coast that, like Gibraltar on the European coast, guards the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. It has been a strategic post for countless generations and cultures. We explore this fascinating colony, our first landfall in Africa, and are delighted to find such great facilities for visiting yachtsmen

Two-Step at DuquesaSpain
Spain is a huge country with coasts on both the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean (see Spain under the Atlantic heading too). We describe our cruise along the Costa del Sol (south coast), and profile the beautiful new marinas and facilities available to cruisers. This summer we will be adding new material to this section when we cruise up the east coast to Barcelona.

Balearic Islands Sheryl Shard
These islands lying off the east coast of the Spanish mainland are equated with hedonism and sun
worship (meaning topless/nude beaches). We cruise to the islands of Ibiza, Formentera, Cabrera and Mallorca, and  anchor in the numerous calas. Watch for updates this summer when we return to these islands and include a visit to the island of Menorca.
