2008 Levante Basin Rally We have enjoyed organizing and leading our
Mediterranean yacht rallies over the last few years. It is a way for us to share
with sailors who are still tied to the dock, the freedom we experience daily as
we explore the cultures of eastern Europe and the Middle East aboard Soleil Sans
Fin, our Jeanneau 47 that has been home for seven years.
Our first rally was in Stari Grad on the island of Hvar in Croatia, attended by
40 yachts from 12 countries.
After participating in the East Med Yacht Rally in 2004 visiting seven countries
in six very fast and hard weeks, we decided to run our 2005 Levante Basin Rally.
This rally toured Turkey, Greek Cyprus, Turkish Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Israel,
Jordan (by land) and Egypt over a four month period, taking our time, then
spending eight months in the Red Sea. This rally was the subject of a 13-episode
series on Distant Shores
We are taking names now of those interested in participating in the 2008 Levante
Basin Rally starting about May 1, 2008, from the south coast of Turkey and
repeating the route of the 2005 rally over a three to four month period.
If you are interested please let us know at
info@soleilsansfin.com and we will
put you on the contacts list.
During 2007, from our temporary base here in Marmaris, Turkey we are running 2
two-week rallies of the turquoise coast of Turkey: one in June and one in
September. We currently have 22 boats signed up with 90 people aboard, most from
Canada.
We have room for more participants. These two rallies are of particular interest
as we have negotiated a 30% discount with a yacht charter company here in
Marmaris. If you are interested in joining us for either of these rallies please
contact us on _info@soleilsansfin.com_ (mailto:info@soleilsansfin.com) You can
